I love to do school visits. I read from my books, tell stories, draw, show animation and talk about where ideas hide out. I reveal drawing tricks and ask my audience to participate either by drawing or inventing stories with me.
I am happy to present to nearly any group, tots, teens and in-betweens. I have also lectured at high schools and colleges.
If you would like to schedule a visit, please contact Nancy Gibson-Nash. You guessed it, Nancy is my wife, but also my partner in bringing books to kids...she will gladly work with you to coordinate a visit specifically tailored to your students.
My school visit fee is $1200 a day for up to four presentations (plus travel expenses). If this fee is out of your range, please call us and tell us about your specific needs...we might be able to work something out!
Contact Nancy via: E-Mail or 207-766-5761.
In addition to writing and illustrating, I am also a designer in a wide range of kids media. My studio NASHBOX creates graphic design, animation, toys and games. Visit our website to see what we’re up to at: NASHBOX.com.
Here’s my biography:
Scott Nash has been a student of kid culture for over twenty-five years. As a partner of the Boston design firm Corey McPherson Nash, Scott Nash developed an expertise in branding and creative development for print and on-air media. He then co-founded Big Blue Dot, a sister company to CMN, to focus specifically on design for kids in the entertainment, consumer product, and publishing worlds.
While at Big Blue Dot, he created identities for Nickelodeon, PBS, ABC, Comedy Central, FX, and Corus Entertainment in Canada. His design clients included American Girl (Pleasant Company), Disney, Mattel, Microsoft, Milton Bradley, and the Boston Children’s Museum.
He also developed and produced animated properties for Disney, Nickelodeon, and MTV as well as animated and live-action promo spots for Comedy Central, FX, and PBS.
Currently he is focusing on design projects related to kids, teaming up with Scott Whitehouse and Nancy Gibson-Nash at NASHBOX.
An accomplished illustrator with a distinctive vibrant style, Scott has illustrated more than 30 children’s books, including Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp and The Bugliest Bug by Carol Diggory Shields, Over The Moon by Rachel Vail, Betsy Who Cried Wolf! by Gail Carson Levine, Snow Day!, Beach Day!, Rainy Day! and the just released Camping Day! by Patty Lakin, and the Flat Stanley series by Jeff Brown.
In 2004, Scott made his debut as author/illustrator with the publication of TUFF FLUFF, The Case of Duckie’s Missing Brain. He is currently working on a novel titled Blue Jay the Pirate, to be published by Candlewick Press.
